Classes

CPI offers classes to parents of children ages 0-18. Each class is led by a trained parent educator who provides tools that parents can adapt to their own family's needs. All CPI classes have a strong child development foundation, supporting the belief that each child and parent brings unique needs and temperament to family life.

Although many classes are held at the Parent Education Center in southwest Santa Rosa, others are conveniently located throughout Sonoma County.

Classes include Guiding your Toddler and Preschooler, Positive Parenting. In addition, classes involving infants and toddlers, such as Infant Massage and Billingual Playgroups, are attended by parents and children together.

Cost is per person unless otherwise indicated. Unless noted parents DO NOT attend with child. Childcare is not provided and children may not be left unattended. Classes are held at our Parent Education Center, 3642 Standish Ave, Santa Rosa, CA.

We can also register you over the phone, if you have a questions about class, enrollment space. We would need to confirm payment over the phone to finalize class registration. CPI Parent Education Center  707-585-6108 extension 1240.

Free classes are under the Special Topics below, select check option for payment to finalize, registration is required to ensure we have enough space for all participants at each community location.

Forums for Parents who Lost Their Homes to North Bay Fires

Evening: Wednesday, November 15, 2017 6:30-8:00 PM (please do your best to arrive on time, as front door is locked at 7:00 PM)

Daytimes: Friday mornings, November 17, and December 1, 8, and 15, 2017 9:00-10:30 AM

Location: 3642 Standish Ave, room 120

These forums are free of charge and are designed specifically for parents who have lost their homes to the recent fires. It is fine to attend any or all of them. No advance registration is required.

This forum will provide:

1. Information about normal post-disaster behaviors you might observe in your children

2. Strategies for parenting your children through their recovery from the fires

3. Red flags: When to seek outside help

4. An opportunity to share feelings/questions/information about parenting issues that might be arising subsequent to the fires. What seems to be helping your children to cope? What parenting challenges would you like to ask about?

5. An opportunity for parents who have lost homes to connect with each other and bolster their own coping strategies

Durante tiempos de estrés, a menudo se hace necesario para nosotros mismos pintar en nuestras reservas interiores a fin de ayudarnos u otros. Pero que sucede cuando nuestras reservas interiores están agotadas? Nos hacemos menos probable de adaptar y enfrentar. Durante el taller, “Imagínese a Usted Mismo,” que durara una hora y media, usted será dirigido por un terapeuta matrimonial familiar con licencia. Un líder de “Imagínese a Usted Mismo” repasará una serie de ejercicios simples que le permitirá la oportunidad de girar hacia dentro y nutrirse usted mismo, por medio de enfocarse en lo que más le importa, su salud, y bien estar.
