Our hearts are with everyone affected by the firestorms in our community. We are happy to announce that we opened our doors on Monday, October 16, to the community and all services at the Child Parent Institute are operational. Our Children’s Counseling Clinic is open for trauma counseling and our therapists are signed up to provide counseling in Sonoma County schools with children as needed. We are providing Parent Education and support in parents’ homes and here on campus for our families. We are also providing supervised visits for parents and children, it is very important for families to see their loved ones during such tragedy. We continue to distribute gift cards, diapers, and food to families that lost everything. Our non-public school, New Directions, lovingly opened their classrooms to our students. Creative Arts groups are open and operational.
Currently, the most valuable resource to those affected by the fire in the upcoming weeks will be for gift cards for food, new clothing, and hygiene supplies. Gift cards to Target, Walmart, and Safeway will be the most helpful for our children and families. This will enable our families to buy much needed supplies like diapers, formula, and clothing. It will give families a sense of independence to be able to buy these items on their own. Your gifts, both large and small, will help those affected by the devastating fires in our community.
Any donated items can be dropped off or mailed to the Child Parent Institute (3650 Standish Avenue, Santa Rosa, CA 95401) from 9am-5pm daily beginning Monday 10/16.
In addition, donations can be made directly to our website, and community members can continue to check our Facebook page for updated donation needs for our children and families.
Thank you in advance for your generous support that allows us to make a difference in the lives of thousands of people and their families each year.
